Two podium races today – 4th overall!

Today during the third day of the ORC Europeans we sailed two more inshore races and we managed to come in third place in both races. Conditions was yet again very good and a bit less wind today around mostly 12-14 knots with nice weather.

We have sailed well today and to be top three in this competition is very good and not easy at all. We have started well and have had good speed, good maneuvers and mostly been at the right place. Especially, the score in the second race today was good as we started on the wrong side but we worked very hard to get back to the top three again.

Our series in the regatta after the five races are: 10, 7.5, 6, 3 and 3 with an overall score of 29.5. Overall, we are now in 4th place in the open class and in the lead in the Corinthian (amateur) class. The two top boats are likely too far ahead but we will do everything we can tomorrow to sail well and there is a small chance we can reach the overall third, currently Estonian Katarina 2 with 22 points, but then we  need scores as today or better in the two final inshore races. Tomorrow after the first race the worst inshore race will also be discarded and this will change the list a lot, we have at the moment a 10th place as our worst score.

Results after three days are here: ORC Europeans Results

We are overall very happy with todays sailing and tonight there will be a crew party in the harbor. We then look forward to tomorrow and our trend is that we have had better scores every race so we will work hard to continue this trend tomorrow!
