SM-Gold in Sea Sailing today!

Today we managed to win the SM gold in ocean sailing after a great weekend of sailing. In total we have sailed six races during the Swedish Championship, four track races, a longer sea race overnight of about 17 hours for us and a shorter sea race today of just over 3 hours. Our result during the SM has been: 1, (5), 2, 1,5, 1 and 1 with a total of 6,5 after one course race is counted out. In total we managed to nail 4 of the 6 races (the long sea race had a weighting of 1.5). Here are the results.

We also congratulate Club Swan 42 Ray who came in second place with 9 points and Farr 40 Stormtrooper in third place with 23 points. Ray in particular has sailed very well during the SM and several races were decided by just a few seconds so it was tight racing as it should be during a championship.

The race offered tough competition and we are very happy that we managed to win in the end and we had a strong finish with spikes in the last three races (both sea races).

Generally it has been nice weather with variable winds, quite light on Saturday, then a bit more medium wind and today really good and stable wind. However, it has been quite cold and some of the crew who didn't bring enough clothes on the longer races must have been freezing a bit.

KSSS together with the Swedish Sea Sailing Association and the other organizers have arranged really good races during the SM and everything around the actual sailing with courses, results and information has been handled in a really professional way and to sail off Sandhamn is always fantastic!

The crew during the SM has been: Joakim Hoppe, Zacharias Krafft, Emil Alnebeck, Peter Thorwid, Pontus Dahl, Anders Björk, Sven Eriksson, Roger Nilson and Patrik Forsgren.

During the SM we have also had very professional help from our meteorologist Måns Håkansson, who is really involved in the fact that we finally managed to win the race - thank you very much for your help Måns!

Now we are gearing up and in two weekends we will go to Tallinn to participate in the Baltic Offshore Week, which is also the Finnish and Estonian championships.
