Two inshore races today – we are still in overall lead of the Worlds!

The Offshore Worlds in the Hague continued today with the first two inshore races. The conditions today continued to be excellent with sunny warm weather. While we had light and medium winds during the offshore races, today during the inshore races we had more wind around 14-18 knots and some waves as well.

We came 13th in the first race after ok sailing but with some mistakes and when doing mistakes it is hard to come top 10 in this hard competition. In the second race we sailed really and was one of the first boats at the finish and came in place 3rd.

Overall after a total of 4 races (out of planned 9) we are still in the lead of Class C among 49 boats with the overall score 24 points (6, 1(2) 13, 3). The second long offshore race, that we managed to win, is counted double and cannot be discarded later in the series.

Today, as one of the top three boats we also had to do a measurement check regarding flotation and displacement which passed with flying colors 6 kg from certification weight.

Tomorrow the tight and competitive racing continues with more inshore races, the forecast is for some lighter winds but remains to be seen. We will continue to try to sail well and hopefully stay at the top.
